Covid-19 Visitor Policy Changes

Updated Covid-19 Visitor Policies

Please see below a summary of changes to our visitor policies for both our residences.  As these policies may change at any time, please follow the direction of our homes when visiting.

Forestview Retirement Home:

In order to visit loved ones at Forestview, regardless of immunization status, active screening for symptoms and exposure history will be conducted before entry.  Both General and Essential visitors will be requested to voluntarily rapid test in an effort to minimize the risk of exposure to residents and team members.  This pertains to both indoor and outdoor visits.  Visitors will be asked to wear a mask for the duration of their visit and practice physical distancing.   Failure to comply with the residence’s visiting policies may result in the discontinuation of visits.  Please contact our reception team at (416) 398-4999 for information on visitation.

Valleyview Residence:

As of March 14, 2022, the Ministry of Long-Term Care have made changes in regards to the Covid-19 policies.  Please note that visitors are still required to demonstrate proof of full vaccination to visit a resident.  Universal masking is still maintained – the lifting of mask mandates on March 21, 2022 does not apply to long term care homes.

Changes implemented are as follows:

  • Up to four General Visitors per resident at a time. Physical distancing with resident not required and can provide support in dining room and join in activities
  • Individuals who have confirmed Covid-19 infection will be required to resume surveillance testing 90 days post-infection
  • Active screening still in place

Please contact our reception team at (416) 398-0555 for more information on our current visiting policy.

We ask for your cooperation as we continue to do our best to keep your loved ones safe.
