Anne Holden, Director of Resident Care

Welcome Anne!

We are pleased to introduce Anne Holden, our new Director of Resident Care at Valleyview Residence.  Anne joined our Valleyview family in early March 2022.   Anne has been a registered nurse for 20 years having graduated with her diploma from Loyalist College in 2003 and then completed her Bachelor of Nursing (Athabasca University, 2011) and Masters in Public Health (University of Liverpool, 2015).  She entered Long Term Care upon graduation and over the years has occupied a range of roles within that industry; staff educator, IPAC, Clinical Programs, Quality Improvement, Palliative Care, Director of Care to name a few.  Anne also spent six years exploring the “Arctic” (Nunavut & NWT), Northern Ontario & BC working in an expanded role in remote outpost settings.   From traveling to various communities as a Community Health Nurse to being the “nurse-in-charge” of a health centre on Baffin Island, these experiences helped develop an appreciation for the uniqueness and life moments that help to shape every individual, and as a result, the importance of person-centered culturally sensitive care approaches.

After returning from ‘the north’ Anne returned to the LTC setting and into leadership and management roles in both for profit and not-for-profit homes as small as 86 beds to facilities with 299 beds.  Anne is passionate about providing dignified, high quality care and ensuring quality of life for those entrusted to her care. She believes that ensuring a supportive and compassionate work environment for employees leads to the best possible outcomes for both employees and residents.

We are excited to have Anne as part of our team and look forward to working with her.
